How Duo Expert collets work
Most of the vehicle manufacturer's wheels today are hub located. This means the wheel fits tightly over a machined hub and the wheel nuts provide the even torque to insure that the wheel is at 90 degrees to the hub.
The Duo Expert system allows the after-market to replicate this and therefore achieve the same balance results as the vehicle manufacturer.
The Duo Expert collet is cylindrical just like the hub of a vehicle. It therefore takes full advantage of how the wheel and the vehicle hub are manufactured. The centre bore of the wheel is parallel and fits on the hub of the vehicle.
The Duo Expert is a 2 piece collet, as the wing nut is tightened, the spring on the wheel balancer shaft compresses the inner collet forces the outer segments of the Duo Expert to expand into the centre hole in the rim.. At the same time the inner collet of the Duo Expert tightens on the shaft of the wheel balancer. Hence tolerance free wheel balancing.
The Duo Expert replicating the hub will avoid the problems associated with cones.
